BIGSOUND Announces 2019 Dates & New Venue

Can you believe it’s almost that time of year again? Brisbane’s biggest and best music festival and conference, BIGSOUND, is back for 2019. Festival organisers have announced the official dates as well as its new venue home in Fortitude Valley.

Running between 3 and 6 September, the theme of this year’s BIGSOUND is ‘The Artist as CEO’. Not only will the festival put musicians and bands at the forefront but also the many bookers, managers, publicists and other musical professionals in the spotlight. Additionally, BIGSOUND waves goodbye to its former home, The Judith Wright Centre, and hello to Cloudland, which provides expanded opportunities for meetings and opportunities for those attending BIGSOUND.

Over the years, BIGSOUND has changed, with networking, workshops and other events becoming far more integral to the event,” explains BIGSOUND Executive Programmer Maggie Collins. “So making the move to Cloudland will give more programming flexibility as well as bringing the conference events closer to the live music that is at the heart of BIGSOUND.”

BIGSOUND has also received a new programming team joining the already amazing Maggie Collins. Shihad’s Tom Larkin will be boosting the conference bookings alongside Tim Shiel (Double J, Spirit Level) and Melody Forghani (Twnty Three) joining the live music team.

Artist and tech applications are now open HERE. Special rate purple passes are also on sale now.
