Boston Lads Oh Malô Release Heartfelt Track “Miss You” + Video

oh-malo-2

Boston quartet Oh Malô fired onto the indie-rock scene earlier this year, topping charts and breaking hearts with their acclaimed debut album ‘As We Were’, and their latest track Miss You says it’s far from over!

Within the first ten seconds ambient guitar and subtle snares heat things up as frontman Brandon Hafetz lays delicate vocals over the top. The band keeps the verses controlled until electric guitar riffs and subtle harmonies inject the breakdowns with energy. The contrast between soft and loud, thick and thin is what brings this track to life.

Although the song gives off a foot tapping “F*ck yeah summer!” vibe, Hafetz says there’s serious emotion embedded in the foundation. “Miss You was written during a very reflective period for me – the calm after the storm if you will,” he says. “The song has a way of fooling your ears into thinking you’re listening to a happy and uplifting song, though if you dig deeper past the musical front it still circles back to the themes of yearning and nostalgia that are present in our album.”

Alongside the emotional lyrics and summery sounds, the video will have you longing for lost loves with clips of the quartet pining for a brunette beauty beneath the autumn leaves. Miss You is modern rendition of a love note, and the video is a perfect complement.

The lads’ unique sound has gained them fast recognition and a nomination at the Boston Music Awards for ‘New Artist Of The Year’. They have since been making supporting performance rounds  amidst preparation for their upcoming US East Coast tour – here’s hoping we’ll be seeing them on Aussie shores soon!
