Byron Bay Bluesfest 2018 Starts Strong With First Lineup Announce

Byron Bay Bluesfest is, arguably, one of the country’s biggest and most infamous music festivals of the year. Always one to build a stacked lineup of national and international guests, organisers have announced the first round of artists for next year’s event.

Topped by none other than Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, he’ll be returning to Australia with his Sensational Space Shifters band. Byron Bay Bluesfest 2018 will also include Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and Lionel Richie who’s also performing other shows around the country at the same time. First Aid Kit and Jose Gonzalez round out the internationals with Tash Sultana and the John Butler Trio are the big names representing Australia.

The festival is known for it’s long trail of lineup drops and announcements. Festival director, Peter Noble, promises a big push in one particular genre for next year:

We have lots of Blues in this announcement too, and we are just getting started,” says Noble.

Once again, Bluesfest will descend on Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay over the Easter long weekend.
