Festivals close to home like The Valley Fiesta always seem like a great idea at the time. There’s no hassle to drive out into the country, no need to camp and all of my local bars are just a few steps away, as opposed to having shelve out $15 for a light beer at an overcrowded alcohol tent. But when the night actually arrives all of the exciting plans I have seem to go amiss as I struggle to navigate my way through the cramped streets of The Valley and inevitably end up stuck at the same stage for most of the night. That’s why I’ve decided to write this guide. Even though most plans I make for festivals tend to be abandoned after a few hours of drinking, it’s always a good way to start the night.
The Big Day Out 2014 sideshows have been announced! Arcade Fire, Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion, Major Lazer, Primus, The Lumineers, Grouplove, CSS, Mac Miller, Toro y Moi, Portugal. The Man, and The 1975 are taking over venues down the East Coast to give their fans an extra chance to see them perform while they're in the country for Big Day Out.
