Glorious Greasy Food Q & A: Caravana Sun

Caravana Sun

Sydney quartet Caravana Sun are taking their quirky alt-rock for a nation-spanning road trip in support of their latest single Eye of the Storm. We threw a few questions at the sun-loving gents about glistening fast food and how they’ll get through the next three months.

What’s your favourite greasy food?

Can’t beat the local fish and chip shops littered around coastal the coastal towns of Australia. Hot chips and a chocy milk after a surf, just doesn’t get any better!

What’s your hangover cure?

We try our best to find the nearest ocean and ride it out on the waves. Can be a bit shaky at the start but you eventually come good!

Do you love or hate pickles on a burger?

Pickles can make or brake a burger, in my opinion they make it.

What has been your most ridiculous or biggest order at a fast food joint?

All you can eat sushi in Portugal was for sure the fastest I’ve ever seen four grown men eat.

For the uninitiated, how do you describe Caravana Sun’s sound and live show?

Usually pretty sweaty. Sometimes for the crowds but every time for the band.

Your latest single Eye of the Storm is full of delicious surf-ska rock, what’s the inspiration behind the song?

We’ve been spending quite a few years now on the road, on and off for most parts of the year. Being away from our loved ones has always taken a toll, so in this case we decided to write a song written from a woman’s perspective.

Lastly, your current tour will span over three months, how does the band stay harmonious on the road?

Through epic amounts of caffeine fuelled conversations and love for each other!
