Good Things is Australia’s New Festival & Here’s Their First Act

For the keen eyes, punters in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane may have been spotting some mysterious posters around the CBDs. It’s time to put your out of your misery and officially announce Good Things Festival.

Kicking off on Friday 7 December in Melbourne, the festival continues for three days straight to Brisbane and Sydney.

If you’re wondering what kind of music will filter through Good Things Festival, wait no more as the first act has been announced—Blackpool’s Boston Manor. The band’s second studio album, ‘Welcome To The Neighbourhood’ is out on Friday 7 September and is a soundtrack to disenfranchisement set in a fictionalised version of the band’s hometown. It’s the group’s first visit to Australia.

Early reports—and by the sign of Boston Manor on the lineup—indicates the festival may be skewed to more punk, heavy, hardcore and metal bands. Our professional opinion? Good Things Festival may be a respectable replacement for Vans Warped Tour—which made it Australia for one year and recently wrapped up their international leg for good. It’s also good to have Good Things Festival considering UNIFY Gathering‘s lacklustre lineup.

The entire lineup will be revealed on Thursday 23 August so keep your eyes peeled on AAA Backstage for that info. Ticketing news will also come on that date.
