Le Couleur Bring Back Disco With “Starlite”

Le Couleur

We have Canada to blame for the likes of Justin Bieber and Nickelback, however, we’re prepared to forgive them as they have just gifted us with the glorious disco-pop trio Le Couleur! The group has just released their sexy lead single Starlite, from their upcoming album ‘P.o.p’, and it’s a real gem!

Starlite is an ode to the 90’s, pumped with a consistent, funky bassline, a pummelled piano, punchy percussion, and even a weird-yet-cool sax solo. Dreamy vocals coast through the groovy terrain of vintage disco sonics that will have you craving the days when Kylie Minogue was in her prime.

Revereated piano starts off the track, giving way to a groovy, moon-walk igniting bass. Breathy, echoing vocals enter and cruise over the instruments, while tip-toeing synths rings out. Once you’ve been settled in, the groove is then intercepted by a super cool Icehouse-esque sax solo.

While most tracks rely heavily on the vocals, there are several elements of Starlite that demand your focus. As the song progresses, spiralling synths erupt, and overpower every element, become the star of the show. Honestly, this is the disco revival we’ve all been waiting for.

Plucked from the realms of LCD Soundsystem and Metronomy, these sexy, albeit quirky sonics will have you on your feet. So get a perm, hang your disco ball and press play!
