Mcrobin’s New Single Is Your Ultimate Pick-Me-Up

Mcrobin updated press photo

If you’re after some feel-good music to get you through a long day you’ve come to the right place! After a year lying under the radar, alt-rock singer-songwriter Mcrobin has given us his new single Concrete Feet, the first glimpse into his upcoming sophomore EP ‘Shallow Diver’.

The Melbourne musician released his debut EP ‘Fault Lines’ in mid-2015, a calming compilation of blissfully sleepy tracks. Concrete Feet takes after Mcrobin’s previous sounds but this time it’s been injected with more of an upbeat feel.

The soft folk-inspired tune offers visions of rainy days spent wandering through the city with your most colourful umbrella and finding refuge in your favourite coffee shop. Bring a book, order a latte, and sit back and relax!

Gentle percussion and soft electric guitars open the song with a loveable sound. Mcrobin’s voice sounds soothing as it drifts softly over the warm comforting melodies, and the chorus is tightknit with every note heartfelt and bubbly.

The lyrics on their own can seem dark with lines like “You long to belong to the nothingness”, but it’s done in such a cute way you can’t help but agree. This song has tones that feel inspired by Fleetwood Mac with a sprinkle of Leonard Cohen (when he’s in a really good mood). We’re just about ready to take this to our local hangout and request they put it on repeat.
