PREMIERE: Bayharbour Release Ear-Crushing Fresh Single “Stargazing”

Bayharbour

You might have noticed it’s been a little quieter than usual lately in the Aussie metalcore scene (ignoring Amity’s average AF new single). You might have also noticed that Bayharbour were, coincidentally, on a short hiatus! Thankfully, the Brisbane quintet are now back with more vigour than ever, and we’ve got the Australian premiere of their intense new single Stargazing!

After touring with I Set My Friends On Fire earlier this year following some heavy single releases, the 5-piece disappeared into silence for a few months. Thankfully they’ve resurfaced with this gem of a tune and we’re taking it as a sign of good things to come, especially with whispers a new album will be dropping super soon…

Bayharbour first blew up in 2014 with the release of their debut EP ‘Reawaken’, and their live shows have a heavy-as-hell sound and potent energy. They’re no strangers to touring and have supported the likes of Every Time I Die, Being As An Ocean, and Dream On Dreamer just to name a few!

Stargazing has set the bar high for whatever’s coming next from Bayharbour. Beginning with ethereal-sounding sparkling chimes, it might feel like you’re floating in a star constellation. The calm doesn’t last long though, as the chimes are quickly shattered by staggered drum beats and hard-hitting screams.

The entire track is loud and fast with heartfelt guitar melodies woven into the song’s fabric. The transitions between distorted and clean vocal sections are effortless, and the vocals remain powerful the entire way through. The song has been mixed so that the guitars add a heap of weight and every drum beat whacks you in the face…enjoyably, we swear!

Stargazing is about the feeling that you’re never enough and never good enough to overcome your struggles. It talks about drawing upon a higher power to guide us as humans through life. The earth, the ocean, the stars, are the higher power in this song,” says drummer Nat Patterson.

Apart from laying down punishing beats for Bayharbour, Patterson also writes some pretty tasty and hilarious reviews of burger joints in and around Brisbane. Check out ‘ANGRY BURGS’ HERE

The group have promised more metalcore goodness is on its way with big things planned for 2017, so watch this space and check out Stargazing below!
