PREMIERE: Harry Heart Stretches The Breadth Of Indie-Rock On ‘Twenty Five’

Twenty Five comes from the intriguing mind of Harry Heart. After an acoustic sabbatical allowed him to slow things down—replacing his electric rig with an acoustic—Heart is back in a big way. AAA Backstage are pleased to offer the exclusive premiere of Twenty Five.

‘Sun Follows’—Heart’s mellow EP from last year—provided a subtle backdrop to his music. It showed fragility and reconciliation, further empowering his lyrical mastery. On Twenty Five, however, Heart is firmly back to his roots and offers his best work to date. The breadth of his rock is languid and svelte. Guitars intermingle with each other in a short, sharp and succinct manner. He wastes no time—the constantly moving pieces to his indie-rock flair is a joy to hear.

Though his grounded instrumentation stands tall, its Heart’s vocal delivery which influences the biggest emotion. Expressing chaos in a pleasant and melodic way, Heart’s twang is his biggest asset. His ability to build and cascade his vocal, much like an instrument, is incredible.

We can all relate to Heart’s message in Twenty Five one way or another. Described as, “…an ode to jealousy, and how we shouldn’t make time for it,” his lyrics propel feelings of jealousy. We’ve all been there—constantly checking old message conversations of social media accounts. Heart transcribes it in a way previously unheard. Twenty Five was recorded at Heart’s “musical home” at Arthur St Studios, mixed in Shanghai’s Metropole Studios by long-time collaborator Vincent Nydam, and finally mastered by Brian Lucey in LA.

For one night only, Harry Heart will launch Twenty Five at MoshPit in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Erskineville. Catch the exclusive premiere of Twenty Five below.
