PREMIERE: SILKACID Rock The F*ck Out In A Garage For “DETLEFSEN” Video
Brisbane’s always had a killer rock scene, that’s just a fact. From The Go-Betweens and Powderfinger to now DZ Deathrays and Violent Soho, there’s always a band from Brisbane taking our national music scene by storm after spending way too many hours rehearsing in a suburban bedroom or shed.
SILKACID are the latest group to join the local rock scene, after taking out The Brightside’s Battle of The Bands 2016, and are ready to smack you over the fence with killer riffs, pummelling drumming, and plenty of sweat! The four hard-rockers have dropped the music video for their grungy track DETLEFSEN, and it’s pretty much three-and-a-half minutes of good ol’ fashion suburban DIY rocking out.
Describing their sound as “filthy, stinkin’ garage from the armpits of Brisbane”, DETLEFSEN sonically takes plenty of influence from 90’s grunge icons Pearl Jam blended with plenty of Aussie attitude. It’s music to get rowdy AF to with your crew on a filthy hot summer arvo when you’re nearing the end of your Milton mangoes sesh… or maybe that’s just us?
“When everything is said and done, we feel like we’re all in this band to play really great, no bullsh*t rock n’ roll that makes people move, and not just because they want to… the kind that doesn’t ask questions.
“We feel like we’ve got something to say and we’re going to do whatever it takes to get people to listen to it,” say SILKACID.
For those Brisbanites craving a decent afternoon of quality, and most importantly rowdy, rock ‘n roll, you can catch SILKACID along with Old Fashion, Fire & Whistle Theory, and Being Jane Lane tearing up The Triffid as part of the Desert Dog Music Festival.
