Queensland Music Award 2017 Submissions Now Open!

Songwriters all over Queensland! QMusic, alongside their partners at the nightlife pioneering Hutchinson Builders and a few others are calling for YOU to submit your work for this year’s instalment of the Queensland Music Awards (QMA’s)!

The collaboration between these bodies are looking to celebrate Queensland’s most gifted emerging and established songwriters to gain the recognition they deserve. This year’s QMA’s stands over 23 categories, celebrating genres like Pop, Country, Dance, and Heavy, as well as regional, video, and school-based awards.

Alongside this, the 2017 Billy Thorpe Scholarship, funded by Arts Queensland, are now acceptating admissions. The Scholarship will give some lucky musician $10,000 to record with an establishing producer as well as career-planning advice from Chugg Entertainment. Sound pretty damn good if you ask me! Both published and unpublished songwriters are encouraged to submit their work via the Queensland Music Awards website prior to 04 December in order to be in the running. Last year’s awards saw artists such as Eves The Behaviour, Sahara Beck, AYLA, Violent Soho, and Black Realm take out awards for their musical outputs.

With the amount of talent coming out of Queensland, this year is sure to be a big one!
