Set Times Unveiled For Laneway Festival

It’s almost Laneway Festival season and the hype is real! Taking over as Australia’s premier Summer festival in recent years, the 2018 edition has some big names topping the bill. Organisers have unveiled its stacked timetable and, highlighters at the ready because there’s some clashes certain to divide mates.

You thought the lineup was big, just cop a look at the unbelievable set times! The War on Drugs, Pond, Bonobo, BADBADNOTGOOD, Slowdive, TOKiMONSTA and more will be closing off the stages in alternating cities. Other big names such as Mac DeMarco, S U R V I V E, Anderson. Paak, Odesza and more will be playing in the early evening and assured to be clashing left, right and centre.

Continuing to stay in the news, Laneway also added the Block Party enterprise to all cities except Fremantle. Announcing names such as Willaris. K, Haiku Hands, UV boi, Jesswar and more, these “festivals inside the festival” are designed to catch some uprising new talent and chill out from the crazier main stages.

Also making headlines was the unexpected removal of Kirin J. Callinan from the national circuit last week. Fellow Laneway Festival performer, Miss Banks, called for his removal citing:

“I believe in the importance of a process of accountability which is why I applaud the organisers of Laneway’s decision to remove Kirin J Callinan from the festival lineup. His long and recent history of reckless and insensitive actions reinforces an entitlement which permits Kirin and others like him to dismiss valid issues, and normalises racism, ableism and sexual assault. Amidst the ‘me too’ discussions, it’s important to see preventative actions as well as support systems. I feel good knowing that Laneway Festival are working hard with their artists, including myself, to create a more inclusive and safe space for its talent, staff, and patrons, as well as the introduction of the 1800 Laneway program.”

Laneway Festival all kicks off in Adelaide from 2 February before moving onto Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle. See the timetables for your specific city below along with the full lineup.
