Sydney City Limits Is Australia’s Newest Festival
Update 11/12 12.20pm: A few more big acts have joined the fray for the first Sydney City Limits. Two international rappers, Future—who recently cut his Listen Out national tour short—and Young Thug have been added alongside Australian heavy hitters, LDRU, Mallrat and BIGSOUND buzz act, Stella Donnelly. Original Story: Step aside Download Festival, if it was even real, a new festival has landed in Australia. Courtesy of Secret Sounds—the team behind the ever dynamic Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival—bring Sydney City Limits. It hits Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday 24 February 2018.
Spun off America’s Austin City Limits, the inurgural lineup is filled with some high class international acts such as Justice, Beck, Phoenix, Grace Jones, the Libertines, just to name a few. Let’s not forget our homegrown talent with the likes of Vance Joy, the Avalanches, Tash Sultana, Gang of Youths, Allday, Winston Surfshirt and more filling in the gaps.
Jessica Dacrou, of Secret Sounds, says the festival is another excellent addition to the yearly festival calendar and, best of all, Sydney City Limits is an all ages and fully licensed event!
“As a Sydney-sider I’m super excited to bring this new event to town. Direct from Austin, Texas and the flagship Austin City Limits, sister event Sydney City Limits looks forward to presenting some of the most awesome international and Australian acts around,” says Dacrou.
