The Harpoons Are Divine Soul Creatures On ‘Pressure’

Taking soul-pop to strange new places for some time now, Melbourne’s The Harpoons are back with the sleek new track, Pressure, from their newly announced sophomore album, ‘Amaro’.

Pulsing and driven in divine soul aesthetic, The Harpoons are a sensual mix of full body indie-tronica and smooth soul. Pressure is a full extension of this. It’s smoky in the right places, bouncy in all the others—Pressure is sure to be The Harpoons’ apex track for newcomers and fans alike.

“Pressure drives our daily existence, in the air, the water, the wind, and the pressure that builds up between sexy people. Inspired by the deepest corners of sweaty but emptying dance floors, you know because your heart is pounding, explained Rigby.

Pressure follows The Harpoons’ lucid and synth-pop fantasy Reassurance from December last year. Both tracks are an outstanding taste of what’s to come from new album ‘Amaro’—dropping 13 April via Caroline. Other single, Do You Want My Love will also appear on the four-piece’s new LP.

The Harpoons recently wrapped a national tour behind their previous single, but be on the look for more dates once ‘Amaro’ lands next month. In the meantime, stream Pressure below.
