Thy Art Is Murder Release Brutal Track As Part Of EP with Two Huge US Acts
Sydney deathcore act Thy Art Is Murder have teamed up with The Acacia Strain and Fit For An Autopsy to deliver an epic display of brutality in a new “six song mini-album”, ‘The Depression Sessions’.
Each band has contributed one original and one cover in their own unique and aggressive styles to form this historic release. This week, Thy Art Is Murder released the first of two contributions in the form of a menacingly brutal opening single They Will Know Another.
The new song and a cover of Rammstein’s Du Hast mark the final chapter before the departure of vocalist Chris “CJ” McMahon who was replaced by Triple J’s Lochlan Watt, who’s currently touring with the band.
Fit For An Autopsy’s Will Putney is the mastermind producer behind the whole project. Putney has immense experience in heavy production, having worked with both Thy Art and Acacia Strain before. Putney is no stranger to this sort of concept album either, having recently produced the joint-effort Equinox from local giants Northlane and In Hearts Wake.
“We gave some nods to the bands we grew up listening to and took some new risks in our own songs. More importantly, this record is a statement of community. We live in a very competitive and selfish world, and it this is proof it doesn’t have to be like that,” the bands said of the album.
‘The Depression Sessions’ is due out on Friday, 12th of August and is available for pre-order on iTunes with Thy Art’s first single available for download upon purchase.
