Timberwolf Kicks Off Summer Festivities With New Single “Washed Out” + Tour

timberwolf_2

Timberwolf, the moniker of indie-alternative artist Christopher Panousakis, has been making waves since his first strums into the limelight, and his latest track Washed Out is no exception. Co-written with Jonathan Boulet and Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Ali Barter), it’s the latest taste we’ve been given of his hotly anticipated debut album.

According to Panousakis, Washed Out was written after an “intoxicated revelation during a 3am skinny dip”, and it’s as smooth and seductive as an ocean wave. Despite featuring his characteristically sweet vocals, it takes a step away from what we’ve come to expect from Timberwolf.

The introduction of psychedelic guitar work and synthesised hums takes us away from his usual charmingly folksy style and into the realm of 70s-influenced alt-rock.

To celebrate the release of Washed Out, Timberwolf will be playing two intimate February shows in Melbourne and Adelaide, filling out his 2017 Summer tour time between Here’s To Now Festival and The Hills Are Alive.

With the promise of an as-yet-unnamed album due for release in the same year, 2017 is certainly shaping up to be the Year of the Wolf!
