ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: The Marlenes Release Cruisey AF Single “My Blue Eyes”

The wrath of lockout laws have now claimed the social lives of many in Queensland and New South Wales. Never fear though, the Marlene’s have solved this crisis, creating 99c tequila stand in the middle of nowhere in the video for their new single My Blue Eyes.

The track is the lead single from their debut album ‘Crawl Out Your Window’ which is set for release Friday 1st of July. Spastic and bouncy guitars are accompanied by a crashing drum rhythm that’s the loveable backbone of the track. After a jagged introduction, straining vocals torpedo into a richer, retro rock soundscape.

The repetitive, yet contagious indie-rock tune coasts along creating a surf vibe that’ll have ‘Strokes fans flocking. Like any good Aussie song, the track closes with a neat harmonica interlude.
