Avenged Sevenfold Are Going Virtual

avenged sevenfold

Californian rockers Avenged Sevenfold will be giving a global 3D/360 degree, live-streamed virtual reality performance, getting on a whole new level with tech! Fans across the globe will be able to view the first-of-its-kind performance on Avenged Sevenfold’s website.

The show comes after the band released their much-anticipated track The Stage last week, which has already amassed over six million YouTube views. The 5-piece are no strangers to attention, having released six studio albums and sold over eight million albums since forming in 1999. Known to most for their singles Hail To The King and Bat Country, the band are also famous for having a diverse sound, and evolving genre styles from album to album.

The performance will be streamed using VRLIVE technology. Heiner Lippman, the Founder and CEO of VRLIVE says the technology is destined to change the way people view and interact with their surroundings.

“Virtual Reality is destined to change the media landscape, which will enable users to not just view entertainment, rather, it allows them to experience it,” Lippman says.

With holograms, augmented reality shows and now virtual reality, the question is soon going to be whether we need to rock up to gigs anymore. Just kidding, the answer is always yes.

Check out the video for The Stage below, and be sure to tune in to Avenged Sevenfold’s website on the night of October 27 (1pm, October 28, AEST), to witness a world-first event!
