Cold Summer Drop Raw And Emotional EP ‘Fight To Survive’

Cold Summer

British four-piece Cold Summer has shyly been in the UK’s post hardcore scene for only a few years. And their latest EP ‘Fight To Survive’ is nothing short of an explosion cultivated from raw despondency. ‘Fight To Survive’ is a deeply lyrically driven, encapsulating production that has sonically proclaimed that Cold Summer is coming out of the shadows.

Bear Eats Wolf, the first track, is the spark to the EP’s exerted despondent theme. The track’s gritty percussion, thunderous bass lines, intensely raw vocals in the first verse and euphoric guitar riffs manage to encapsulate one thing, a hell of a lot of emotion! The chorus blends cleaner vocals with a more raw scream quite effectively emphasising the more impactful moments.

The rest of the EP doesn’t let up, following the lead and laying down a lot of intensity. ‘Fight To Survive’ has displayed the band’s musical development, with a tighter production than previous releases.

Since coming into the post hardcore scene in 2011, a Cold Summer has impressively self-produced their last 2 EP’s, and self-manages their own tour around the UK for their 2013 album release.

This up-and-coming band deserves a listen! Check out Bear Eats Wolf below!
