Crash & The Crapenters Unleash Gritty New EP ‘Species Du Faeces’

Psychedelic rock provocateurs Crash & The Crapenters are back with a vengeance, channelling middle-aged rage into their upcoming EP, Species Du Faeces. Known for their unfiltered, hard-hitting sound, the band takes listeners on a four-track journey tackling themes of mental health, addiction, and self-reflection—all wrapped in their signature blend of garage grunge, punk energy, and classic rock influences.

The EP kicks off with ‘All Geared Up’, an electrifying track that dissects Australia’s culture of addiction, building from euphoric highs to crushing lows. ‘Depression (Smells Like Middle Aged Spirit)’ follows, delivering a gritty nod to the struggles of being trapped in self-destructive cycles.

Frontman Chris Carpenter emphasises that while the EP confronts dark themes, its ultimate message is one of growth and resilience.

“Looking deep within yourself and realising the part you, yourself play in contributing to your own misery and rather than being all “misery loves company” and dragging other people down to build yourself up, improve yourself in the areas you need to, and make a positive contribution to the world around you!”- Chris Carpenter.

The industrial-laced ‘The Devil’s In The Detail’ dives deep into the emotional weight of everyday existence, while the closing track, ‘Off The Bricks’, offers a glimmer of hope—an anthem for breaking free from old patterns and pushing toward self-improvement.

Species Du Faeces is available now, everywhere.
