The Culture In Memoriam Drop Dreamy Track “The Little One (Marches On)”
Sweden’s best-kept secret The Culture In Memoriam have dropped a tranquil new track The Little One (Marches On)! Incorporating dreamscape surrealism and weightless simplicity, the track is sure to satisfy lovers of indie-pop.
The Little One (Marches On) brings together blissful rhythms similar to the likes of Syd Matters with lyrics reminiscent of Local Natives. The track’s mellow vibe rings of childhood nostalgia, building on a deep strumming foundation along with a percussive chime. A soft, continuous beat sets the tone of the track before the soothing vocals surface, flowing easily through to the chorus.
The chorus explores a higher vocal range, higher tempo, and enticing harmonic progression, complemented by captivating lyrics: “Remember all the wild nights/ The better and the worse/ And the little one/ The righteous son/ Marches on.”
The Little One (Marches On) is a tribute to the dreams lost beneath the daily grind of adulthood. As the band says, these are the dreams created in childhood to comfort you when life shows its ugly adult side.
“That little child pounds at you from the inside of your chest and bites your guts all these mornings when you’re going to that same workplace and to that same asshole that calls himself your boss. The little one will continue to harass you from inside until you’re back. The little one marches on and shouts: be realistic, demand the impossible,” the band said.
