Jack White Drops Great Cover Ahead of Acoustic Album Release
White Stripes frontman and albino enigma Jack White has released a never before heard acoustic mix of The Racounteurs’ Carolina Drama. The release comes before his highly anticipated release of ‘Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016’, a self-titled compilation of previously unreleased acoustic tracks.
The chronological album serves as a collection of acoustic songs recorded by White throughout his more popular era of his musical career.
White’s rendition of Carolina Drama is both haunting and beautiful as delicate strings, playful banjos, and soft vocals add an organic edge to the original song. The traditional murder ballad is given a folk-rock twist, and despite the twisted lyrics you’re likely to be left enchanted by the mystical tone of White’s version.
Jack White’s career began in the 1998 Detroit garage rock scene where he teamed up with his wife Meg to form The White Stripes. Jack White’s success is clear from his beginnings to his more recent music, which is why the album will feature many songs from different periods in his career.
Starting off with favourites like Apple Blossom and I’m Bound to Pack It Up, the album is set to take the listener on a journey through the musical talents of Jack White. There is also plenty of recent work on the album with songs like Machine Gun Silhouette and Just One Drink.
‘Jack White Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016’ is set for release on Friday, 9th September.
