Melbourne Electro-Songstress Woodes Drops Ethereal New Single

Melbourne singer-songwriter and producer has just released her latest single Rise, which features backing vocals from a whole slew of artists including Alex Lahey, Lanks, Lupa J, and Nirrimi just to name a few!

Rise was co-produced with Simon Lam and is a chilled-out track with simple percussion and layered synths that paint a very peaceful sonic soundscape. The song also features Woodes’ signature calm vocals that flow well beautifully atop the dreamy sound of the subtle backing choir.

Woodes explains adding the choir to the song was a lovely, different recording experience. “It was the first time I received guest vocals on my own song and it felt really special to have them all singing along with me,” said Woodes.

Woodes’ previous single The Thaw received praise from a whole stack of sources, and since then has been cutting it all over the airwaves and of course in our office! Having just wrapped up touring Australia with Montaigne and Dustin Tebutt, Woodes has announced she’ll be supporting Ngaiire for an upcoming east coast tour!
