Neighbourhood Youth Share First Taste Of Debut Album With ‘Stay Safe’

Neighbourhood Youth

Neighbourhood Youth need to stop being so good. Their latest string of singles has been nothing short of perfect. Stay Safe is the first taste of new music from the four-piece this year and eschews an undying breed of intimacy paired with frenetic energy.

There’s a certain grace to nailing a two-minute epic, but Neighbourhood Youth have well and truly done it. Stay Safe follows on from last year’s amazing Hugo and Lately. In line with their previous track record of awesome singles, Stay Safe continues to develop their ultra sharp guitar tones. It’s their ability to detain and control their blasting indie-rock that perpetuates the song’s meaning.

Bassist and lyricist, Sam Nathan, mentioned Stay Safe is about, “finding peace with the realisation that some things are completely beyond your control.” Starting off a lulled ballad, it blasts into a wild crescendo of guitars and a chorus that won’t quit.

Additionally, the band have shared the film clip for Stay Safe. Shot by Nick Manuell on location at Moreland Hotel in Brunswick, it shows the band’s raucous live experience against a polarising backdrop. It’s interesting to note that this is where Neighbourhood Youth was actually conceived. The single was recorded and produced with Press Club’s Greg Rietwyk is is a first taster to their unannounced, debut album.

Neighbourhood Youth are on tour throughout September hitting a few select spots. Be sure to catch them on the road and familiarise yourself with Stay Safe below.
