PLANET Shine In Latest Single “Can’t Connect”

Sydney’s PLANET have dropped a fresh single, Can’t Connect, adding another ingredient to their hotly bubbling mix of alt-rock and guitar pop.

The new track is reminiscent of their earlier works such as Disaster Caster and Undermine, with the swirling sounds of acoustic and electric guitars alongside heavy effects pedalling. There is a density to PLANET’s songs, as the layers of effects create a textured feeling in choruses, while the verses are punctuated by chiming electric plucking.

To celebrate the track, the band are heading out on the road with (the conversely named) Aussie indie rockers British India in a string of NSW and ACT shows, as well as heading to both Festival of the Sun and Lost Paradise later in the year. The band have also graciously allotted some time for the Sunshine State, getting in a show at the Miami Tavern, where they rocked the stage at Shakafest earlier this year.

The Sydney quartet have a knack of pumping out some amazing guitar pop from the studio constructed in vocalist Matty Took’s bedroom. They’re part of a growing trend of Aussie guitar pop bands like DMA’s, Green Buzzard, and Future Haunts, which, just quietly, we’re loving here at AAA.
