TOUR DATES ADDED: Rest In Peace, Yellowcard

American rockers Yellowcard have announced their work as a band will be “resting in peace”, with the band splitting up after the release of their final self titled, self produced album. However, it’s not all sad news, with the band announcing that they will be embarking on one final world tour!

The band announced the heartbreaking news on their website with a detailed statement to fans.

“Putting this into words hasn’t been easy. When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news. After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end.”

The band confess they’ll be “forever grateful to Yellowcard fans all over the world for the opportunities” they were given. They admit they “went into this record knowing it would be the last, which is why they chose to have [band members] Ryan Key and Ryan Mendez produce it. The motivation behind this was to make sure these songs came from a place that was deeply rooted in us.”

To begin the band’s final goodbye, Yellowcard released the album’s lead single Rest In Peace. The emotional lyrics and heavy-hitting melody accompanied by the band’s signature high violin notes fully capture the essence of the band we’ve come to know and love throughout the years. The single’s hard hitting drums and luring guitar capture a range of emotion and if the other tracks are in the same vein then the final album looks promising!

The Florida-based band has been performing for nearly two decades and recorded nine studio albums, spawning hits such as Ocean Avenue, Only One, and Lights and Sounds. Though the band members have decided to “head into new directions”, they state “these memories will never leave us.”

Yellowcard have announced the dates of the Final Wold Tour for the US, UK, and Europe, and say the Japanese and Australian dates will be released on Thursday, 30th of June. The band encourages all their fans to come to an emotional celebration and final thank you for all the years of support.
