Sail On! Sail On! Release Passionate Hardcore Track “No Thieves”

Perth heavy-hitters Sail On! Sail On! have dropped a new single from their upcoming, untitled-as-of-yet, debut album. No Thieves blends together gritty hardcore and technical guitar work akin to bands like The Fall of Troy and The Chariot.

The song opens with a sample of a political speech of some kind, a bouncing bass line, and tribal sounding drums before jumping into the first verse. Vocalist Skinny O’Leary screeches over the thumping drums and rumbling bass while busy guitar riffs are layered underneath and the song builds.

After a chunky build up the song hits a soaring chorus before stripping right back, with O’Leary crooning, “No mineral, no guiding light/No God to keep me warm at night/No tonic, no cure/No magic answers to assure”.

The song smashes through some angsty, technical hardcore through the bridge and into the outro before an abrupt ending, somehow still leaving you still wanting more after an emotional three minutes of hardcore.

The music video is compiled of footage from their most recent national tour, alongside Purity, and featuring live shots, a shoey, good laughs, and a healthy dose of road footage. Shot in black and white, the monochromatic nature of the music video smoothly compliments the emotions being shouted out.

There are limited details surrounding Sail On! Sail On!’s upcoming album. But if you’re in Perth be sure to catch the band at their single launch next week November at Jimmy’s Den!
