Sunshine Coast Gets V Good New Venue, Rocking Opening Gig
Sick and tired of the same old music venue, you Bruce Highway believers? Fret no longer, the Sunshine Coast is getting a new music venue, The V Room! This new spot is brought to you by Beats Cartel and they are clearly keen to make an impression, having called in big name Brisbane rockers DZ Deathrays for the launch party on September 23.
The V Room is located within the Villa Noosa Hotel. While the idea of rocking out to your favourite band in the same location as pokies and parmigianas might not be the ideal (or hey, maybe it is); it seems The V Room is going to give it a try.
The existing Noosa Village Band Room has been upgraded to have a 500 capacity with full line array production and professional lighting rig. The venue is sponsored by Coopers and bookings managed by Beats Cartel. Venue booker Christian Tryhorn says “we have some great acts lined up over the next few months and the launch will be epic!”
Indeed, The V Room couldn’t have brought in a more epic band for its launch. DZ Deathrays have risen, in a short space of time, to become one of the standout young acts in the country, having appeared at Reading Festival, SXSW, Falls Festival, along with supporting the likes of Foo Fighters and Band of Skulls. They also have an upcoming european tour with Dune Rats in October, making their gig at The V Room one of their last in the country.
DZ Deathrays will be supported at the V Room launch party by fellow Brissy bands Columbus and Walken.
