Take A 90s Trip With OLSSON’s New Washed-Out Music Video
Stockholm songwriter and producer OLSSON has hit us with an effortlessly cool music video for his recent alt-pop single, Hold On. The music video is an eclectic combination of home videos of OLSSON and his squad loitering around the concrete centres of Berlin.
The video was filmed with four different cameras to create analogue images reminiscent of 90s rave culture, which is one of OLSSON’s major musical influences. The track itself is also equally cool witty lyrics and gospel-like harmonies, featuring vocals from fellow Swedish music maker Mapei.
OLSSON has described Hold On, the title-track of his debut EP, as, “a battle song about when you’re struggling to find purpose and meaning when the world around you is falling apart. It’s about when you thought you lost the fight, but you find a new way out.”
Although OLSSON may be new on the music scene, the mastermind Swede behind the project is not. Christian Olsson was the frontman of Swedish rock band Fibes, Oh Fibes!.
Long story short, there’s been no problems with the cross-continental translation of cool, so make sure you check out the music video for Hold On below!
