Void Of Vision Drop Brutal New Music Video, Announce Debut Album & National Tour
Fans of Melbourne metalcore act Void of Vision are likely to be foaming at the mouth right now, with a smorgasbord of goodies from the lads being dropped all at once! The band revealed a brand spanking new single and video, titled // (pronounced Slash Slash), taken from their newly announced debut album ‘Children of Chrome’. The 5-piece have also signed to the Aussie home of the heavy elite, UNFD, and announced a national tour as well!
// is a powerful mosh track that kicks listeners right in the face from the onset. Following a chunky drum and bass intro, a slamming down-tuned riff kicks the song off, with vocalist Jack Bergin spitting out aggressive poetry, detailing his perception of the corrupt nature of the world. A guest spot from Stray From the Path’s Drew York compliments the tone of the song, contrasting the vocal dynamics of Bergin and lifts it into a rage-fuelled, headbang inducing breakdown. Traces of nu-metal grit and dissonance permeate throughout the track, an effective nod to the nu-metal revival currently seen amongst many heavy acts both at home and abroad (Ocean Grove come to mind).
The black and white stylised video sends a cut-and-dry message about corruption in politics. The political member in the video, depicted as a proud, short-tempered, drug abusing authority figure, is forced to watch the band perform and hear their message of intolerance for the current state of affairs. Guest vocalist York shoots it straight, screaming, “This is a toast from the world you’re deceiving/You ignore the voice and take away discretion/but blink for a second and you’ve got kids locked in detention centres”
Alongside the single, Void of Vision announced the upcoming release of their debut album, set for Friday, 30th of September, through UNFD. The band will also be hitting the road on a national tour, with special guests Justice For The Damned and She Cries Wolf along for the ride.
With lines such as “If you’re not angry, then you’re not listening”, Void of Vision pull no punches in letting people know they are here to send a message.
