Absurdity Abounds In Crazy Music Video From The Peep Tempel
The Peep Tempel are back at it with their music video for Rayguns, delivering a hilarious combination of political commentary, heavy rock beats, and weird dance moves.
Rayguns makes a mockery of modern news broadcasting with the Melbourne group putting themselves in the position of news reporters to comment on the current state of the world/our impending doom. The video features some pretty crazy dance moves and has an almost karaoke feel as the lyrics scroll across the screen like a news broadcast.
This video really highlights the absurdity of news broadcasting, with the group photoshopping their own faces onto actual news reporters. The Peep Tempel are placed in a variety of weird locations, from standing on the wing of a plane to riding along on a rollercoaster while playing bass guitar. It’s a confusing mixture of satirical political commentary and hilarious editing choices.
Rayguns is a pretty heavy rock tune, bound to get your voice hoarse if you scream along too loudly. Its got a strong, pounding rhythms, and has a very Aussie feel to it with their glorious accents shining through.
These shenanigans are in honour of The Peep Tempel’s upcoming third album ‘Joy’, out on October 14. They’ll be touring across Australia in November, so get ready for some serious moshing!
Until then, check out the craziness of Rayguns below and prepare to feast your eyes on the glory of frontman Blake Scott dancing around in vibrant green lycra pants…
