Amy Shark Shares Sweet New Single From Upcoming EP
Gold Coast gal Amy Shark has released her sweet new single Adore from her forthcoming EP, ‘The Little Sleeper’.
Opening with a beachy guitar riff, the song features soothing synthesisers and a solid beat that nicely caresses Shark’s homely vocals. The lyrics are attention grabbing and there’s a certain youthful delicacy and cerebral quality in her music that lacks in other pop offerings.
The single is a very real song in the sense that it isn’t about grand delusions nor is it bogged down by excessive melancholy, rather something we can all relate to. Adore is a brooding track that’s “all about crushing hard on someone and hopefully it gives you all a surge of confidence to go ahead and make a move,” says Shark.
The singer-songwriter has also supported the likes of Matt Corby and The Delta Riggs. Her song Golden Fleece took out the ‘Best Pop Release’ category in the 2016 Queensland Music Awards. Shark is also a budding film maker, directing and producing all her own music videos. She’s currently knee-deep in recording her second EP ‘The Little Sleeper’, but you may very well catch a live show once it drops, so stay tuned!
‘The Little Sleeper’ gets released on the 16th of September. Check out the single Adore below and our chat with her after she won the 2016 QMA
