Rainbow Serpent Festival Reveals Colourful 20th Anniversary Lineup
Victoria, it’s time to get colourful! Rainbow Serpent is returning for its 20th year in 2017, boasting its biggest international line-up yet. One of the biggest influences in the psy-trance genre, UK artist Simon Posford is set to follow up his 2011 headlining slot with his two projects Shpongle and Hallucinogen. He’ll be joined by Extrawelt, D-Nox & Beckers, Perfect Stranger, and a host of other international acts.
As part of Victoria’s electronic music culture, Rainbow Serpent emphasises lifestyle, sustainability, and performance art, with an expansive village of multi-cultural foods, ceremonies, garden, and wellbeing activities. The Market Stage is one of the festival’s highlights, running for 72 hours with no breaks.
Last year, 45 drivers were caught under the influence of drugs and five arrested for trafficking at Rainbow Serpent, but despite the growth of recreational drug use, festival-goers maintain that Rainbow Serpent is a music and lifestyle-driven event.
Rainbow Serpent 2017 kicks off Friday 27th of January, and wraps up after the Australia Day long weekend.
