Camikaze Drops Futuristic Single “This Burden” Ahead Of EP Release
West Australian producer Camikaze has just released his new single This Burden (feat. Airospace and Luna May) ahead of his debut EP release! The single follows the recent success of his debut single Shadows (feat. Zoe A’dore) which has clocked over one million hits on YouTube!
Heavily inspired by video game soundtracks, This Burden opens with futuristic electronica soundscapes, and continues down a dark path of electronic swagger. The song tells the story of a man who blames himself for the loss of a friend, but overcomes his emptiness and realises that he is not at fault and the world is still a beautiful place.
American rapper Airospace lends his unique rhythmic raps to the track, somehow perfectly matching West Australian vocalist Luna May’s hauntingly beautiful tone. The gorgeous, smooth hook will transport you into a different atmosphere until the bass line draws you back into the tracks’ signature futuristic theme – think Flume meets Earl Sweatshirt meets Banks.
Behind Camikaze is Melbourne-based producer Cameron Murphy. At only 20 years of age, Murphy has well and truly captured the attention of the nation, with two of his tracks being featured on triple J Unearthed early in 2014. Murphy also scored an official remix for Peking Duk’s Say My Name (feat. Benjamin Joseph) late last year.
Camikaze is set to release his debut EP ‘Thousands’ on October 10, and wanting “the entire EP to feel like a movie soundtrack”, the West Australian musical talent says his EP is heavily influenced by sci-fi themed video game soundtracks. While you wait for his EP to drop, let Camikaze blow your mind with This Burden below!
