Ready to be pitch-slapped? Grammy Award winning a cappella quintet Pentatonix are bringing their world tour to Australia this September in celebration of their new self-titled album, which has already rocketed to certified Gold status.

The vocal sensations found fame on NBC’s ‘The Sing Off’, and took their instrument-free music to phenomenal heights. Following their win, the group has sold 3.2 million albums with all seven Pentatonix releases having peaked within the Top 5 on Billboard’s Digital Albums Chart, with six of those releases reaching the Top 10 or higher on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

The group, made up of of vocalists Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, and Mitch Grassi, vocal bass Avi Kaplan, and beatboxer Kevin Olusola, last came to Australia in 2014 for a sold-out national tour.

This time, the Texan ensemble hit our shores with a few more notches on their belt. Their growing credentials include new album ‘Pentatonix’ (the fourth overall for the group, but their first to be comprised entirely of original songs), two Grammy Awards, sold out performances around the world and cameos in last years Pitch Perfect 2. They will play all-ages shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and tickets will go on sale June 17.

Pentatonix may be limited in instruments but the group know no bounds. Their music is defined by stylistic arrangements that effortlessly moves from electronica, to reggae, to dubstep and more. They have tight vocal harmonies, deep and steady vocal bass lines, and a diverse range of vocal percussion and beatboxing.

Some of their most popular tracks include a Daft Punk medley and ‘If I Ever Fall In Love,’ an original featuring Jason Derulo from the latest LP.

This will be Pentatonix’s most extensive tour to date and undoubtedly just as successful due to the huge following they have amassed – their YouTube channel alone has more than 1.57 billion views and 10.7 million subscribers.

If you’re not yet convinced, check out the ‘Pentatonix’ LP for yourself!
