Abbey Lane Shares Introspective New Single ‘Burning Out’

Rising Australian indie folk artist Abbey Lane returns with a stripped-back and soul-stirring new single, ‘Burning Out’, marking her first self-produced track to date. Known for her smooth, emotive vocals and thoughtful songwriting, Lane leans into a gentler sonic palette this time around — pairing ambient synths and delicate electronic textures with heartfelt lyricism.

‘Burning Out’ speaks directly to the turbulence of navigating life in your twenties. Through a minimal yet powerful arrangement, Lane captures the emotional weight of feeling directionless in a world where everyone seems to be moving at different speeds. Her reflective vocal performance allows the song’s themes of uncertainty and inner conflict to shine, offering a sense of calm and clarity for listeners facing similar struggles.

“This track is for anyone having a quarter life crisis. I wrote it in a confused time of feeling lost in my twenties, where some friends are getting married and having kids, others are living day to day travelling the world, and I was conflicted between knowing what I should want and where I should be.” Abbey Lane.

Having already earned recognition for earlier 2025 singles like ‘Baby Steps’ and ‘Younger’, Lane continues to demonstrate her versatility. From upbeat pop-rock to introspective folk, her evolving catalogue is winning over fans and tastemakers alike, with past support from Rolling Stone, triple j, and more.

With performances at Old Bar Beach Festival, Never Had So Much Fun, and support slots for acts like Eluera and Kim Churchill, Abbey Lane is fast becoming a voice of her generation.

‘Burning Out’ is streaming everywhere now.
