AFL Grand Final Brings Aussie Acts, Mystery International

Mystery

It’s that time of year again, the AFL Grand Final is almost upon us. Even if you aren’t a fan of the sport, it’s hard to argue that the final doesn’t have something for everybody as the pre-match entertainment has boasted some of the most popular artists, both old and new.

For this years’ final, triple j Hottest 100 2013 winner Vance Joy and Aussie punk legends The Living End have been confirmed, but the previously expected all-Australian lineup has been put on hold for the announcement of a mystery international headliner.

Though no official hints have been dropped as to who the secret songwriter is, rumours have circulated that Taylor Swift may be making the trip down under for the event, however these rumours have been denied. Judging from previous years, which saw acts such as Lionel Richie, Bryan Adams, Powderfinger, Ed Sheeran, and Tom Jones take the stage, the headliner is guaranteed to be someone who has dominated the airwaves at one time or another.

Whoever the headliner is, they’ll have a hard time topping Angry Anderson’s 1991 Grand Final performance which saw him rock up in a batmobile and sing a passionate rendition of Bound For Glory. Who do you think the mystery act will be? Let us know!
