ALEIA Unveils Haunting New Single ‘Public Humiliation’ From Forthcoming Debut EP
Perth/Boorloo indie-pop and alt-folk artist ALEIA has released her striking new single ‘Public Humiliation’, the title track from her forthcoming debut EP, set to arrive Thursday, November 6.
With just two singles under her belt, ALEIA has already emerged as a rare voice in the Australian indie folk pop scene, weaving luminous soundscapes from heartache and raw honesty. ‘Public Humiliation’ showcases her lyrical gift, exploring the bruised edges of modern love, the vulnerability of intimacy, and the quiet ache of wanting too much in an age of casual connections.

Delicate guitar lines and layered, aching vocals drive the track, blooming into a chilling mix of drums, electric guitar, and synths. The result is a slow-burning confession, carrying both tenderness and grit. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the EP, ALEIA explains:
“Public Humiliation is an EP I wrote after being jaded with love. I was newly single with my frontal lobe fully developed and realising I had only experienced toxic long-term relationships, painful situationships, and a nightmarish uncommitted life of casual dating. Being in love felt like a humiliation ritual to prove that you can be loved. It was sobering to be so self-aware of how embarrassing it is to be vulnerable in a culture that is used to romanticising casual sex.” – ALEIA.
‘Public Humiliation’ offers a powerful first taste of ALEIA’s debut EP, cementing her as one of the most captivating new artists to watch in 2025.
