ALPHAMAMA Drops Self-Awakening Single “Ass In The Front”

Alphamama Press Shot 1 - Horizontal REZISE

She has kept us waiting for new music since the release of Spit Me Out in 2013, and now Sydney producer ALPHAMAMA is back with Ass In The Front, the lead single off her forthcoming EP ‘Honey Fire’.

Ass In The Front has an early J-Lo vibe to it, using syncopated drum beats alongside some super 90s-style instrumentals. Moments similar to Kendrick Lamar’s signature electric keyboard cut through the mix, transforming the song from a bass-driven rap jam to a quaint jazz number.

It’s been a few years since her last release, but ALPHAMAMA’s latest single shows some serious development from her previous TLC-style track Spit Me Out. The beautiful production and tight vocal hooks in both songs emphasise the rawness and honesty of ALPHAMAMA’s renewed songwriting style.

Ass In The Front is ALPHAMAMA’s ode to embracing her sexuality and standing up to misogyny. “I wrote it at a time when I decided that I no longer wanted to make distraction music,” she said.

“I wanted to be someone who actually helped wake people up instead of keeping them asleep”.

To top it all, ALPHAMAMA is planning an EP tour with folk songstress Alice Night. Described as a “multi-sensory theatre show”, the tour will explore sexuality in our psyche, language, planet, and cosmos. With tour dates TBC, you best keep an eye on ALPHAMAMA’s Facebook page to catch her near you soon!
