Attila Offer “Public Apology” With Latest Single, Still Manage To Be Offensive
Known for their bad-boy attitude and no-holds-barred approach to life, Atlanta-based metalcore crew Attila have delivered a fresh single that upholds their values in fine form. A slamming nu-mosh anthem, Public Apology is a sincere sarcastic and underhanded apology for frontman Chris “Fronzilla” Fronzak’s public persona and the notoriety the band has achieved.
Wasting no time in getting to the point, the opening line “I am so sorry/sorry that you’re a little b*tch!” kicks in to a powerful riff that takes cues from some of Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park’s heavier offerings. Well and truly another example of the modern nu-metal revival, the verses of Public Apology feature Fronzilla rapping over grimy grooves, teasing a semblance of vocal diversity with the occasional harsh roar and scream.
After an edgy chorus that drops just about every swear word in the English language, a pit call transitions into a brutal breakdown, “You mother*ckers get offended by anything/so go ahead and get offended by this”. Make no mistake, there’s nothing offensive about the low-tuned, heard hitting slam-fest that follows, leading into a bridge with hazy riffs and full-fledged harsh vocals. Unfortunately, the song falls into repetition and blandness after this point, lacking any real high-point or substantial impact.
Attila rose to prominence in the heavy scene with their albums ‘Outlawed’ and ‘About That Life’, released in 2011 and 2013 respectively. The band gained notoriety with their reckless attitude, party-boy lifestyle, and political incorrectness depicted in videos such as About That Life and Proving Grounds, however have achieved millions of hits on YouTube despite the negative publicity.
Vocalist Fronzilla has enjoyed massive popularity and acclaim through his Facebook page, reaching over one million likes and delivering dank memes daily. Attila’s upcoming album ‘Chaos’ is due out later this year. Check out Public Apology below!
