Bakers Eddy Unveil Nostalgic New Single ‘Manners Street’ Ahead of Upcoming EP
Indie rock outfit Bakers Eddy are back with their latest single, Manners Street, a nostalgic and hook-filled anthem that pays tribute to their hometown of Wellington, New Zealand. The track marks the first glimpse of their upcoming EP, set for release later this year, and arrives as the band gears up for major international showcases at SXSW Austin and New York’s The New Colossus.
Now based in Naarm/Melbourne, Bakers Eddy have spent the past year reconnecting with their roots after relentless touring in support of their 2022 album Love Boredom Bicycles. Frontman Ciarann Babbington describes Manners Street as a deeply personal reflection on the Wellington they grew up in, weaving together shared memories and stories from their formative years.

“Writing ‘Manners Street’ felt like a way to reconnect from far away, not only with our memories but with that part of ourselves that was missing. It’s also special to us because all four of us are connected lyrically to it. They’re our shared stories and memories (aside from the parking lot one, that’s just for me), so in a way it’s the most ‘Bakers Eddy’ Bakers Eddy song we’ve made so far.” – Ciarann Babbington, Bakers Eddy.
The single was self-produced alongside Vincent McIntyre (Fan Girl, Mr Industry), with mixing by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, The Strokes) and mastering by Emily Lazar (Foo Fighters, Coldplay). With its infectious energy and heartfelt lyrics, Manners Street captures the essence of indie nostalgia while reaffirming Bakers Eddy’s identity.
Stream Manners Street now and stay tuned for their highly anticipated EP later this year.
