BANKS’ “Gemini Feed” Has Us Longing For ‘The Altar’
Following her stunning 2014 album ‘Goddess’ and first 2016 single F*ck With Myself, American songstress BANKS’ latest track Gemini Feed makes three from three. It’s soulful, intriguing, and will leave you wanting nothing more than to hear the rest of her upcoming album ‘The Altar’.
In a turn of fascinating contradiction, Gemini Feed opens to bubbly, playful synth glossing over an ominous melody. Entering the first verse, the synth deepens, its gravelly tones accentuating the sweetness and purity of BANKS’ vocals.
Wafia fans will adore the song’s soft, subtle verses just as much as the scorching chorus lyrics – “And to think you would get me to the altar/Like I’d follow you around like a dog that needs water”. The combination of a vibrant, flowing rhythm with hard-hitting vocals and an impressive exploration of BANKS’ vocal range means this chorus is not to be missed.
In 2014, ‘Goddess’ earned BANKS the global title of “Most Blogged-About Artist” and the number one spot on Billboard’s “Emerging Artists” and “Trending” Chart, and if her latest singles are any indication, she’s just getting started.
Gemini Feed will be the first track on BANKS’ upcoming album ‘The Altar’, set to drop on Friday 30th of September.
