BIGSOUND 2025 Expands Conference Program With Star-Studded Speaker Lineup and Global Music Industry Powerhouses
Australia’s premier music conference and festival, BIGSOUND, is raising the bar in 2025 with a massive new speaker announcement and expanded conference programming focused on “connections that count.” The updated lineup brings together music icons, international industry leaders, and boundary-pushing artists for what’s shaping up to be the most impactful BIGSOUND Conference yet.
Leading the charge is Briggs, Yorta Yorta rapper and founder of Bad Apples Music, who will appear in conversation with fellow trailblazer Kobie Dee. Returning to BIGSOUND in 2025 is global sensation Tash Sultana, alongside hitmaker Mallrat, and musician and inclusion advocate Elly-May Barnes, who’s making waves with her debut album and ABC documentary spotlight.
Britpop legend Dave Rowntree of Blur also joins the lineup, offering insights into fame, photography and storytelling ahead of his new book No One You Know.

The conference also welcomes global industry giants including Cindy James (Virgin Music Group), Ollie Hodge (Some Action), Drew Bennett (Q Prime Australia), and country music visionaries Meredith Goucher (CMA) and Nikki Boon(Neon Coast/Kane Brown). International festival experts Dev Sherlock (SXSW), Robin Werner (Reeperbahn), and Adam Ryan (The Great Escape) round out the international contingent.
BIGSOUND 2025 will spotlight Mexico as a rising export destination with sessions from Cynthia Flores and Malfi Dorantes of MUSICMEX, tapping into the region’s booming global influence.
With panels on A&R innovation, music-tech intersections, and cutting-edge projects like Bondi Lines, this year’s conference promises deep insights and real-world strategies for artists and industry alike.
Taking place in Meanjin/Brisbane, BIGSOUND 2025 continues to lead the charge as the Southern Hemisphere’s largest platform for music discovery and industry connection.
