BIGSOUND 2025: Just One Week to Go as New Events, Secret Shows and Huge Parties Announced

The countdown is officially on — with just one week until BIGSOUND 2025 kicks off, excitement is building across the Australian music industry as fresh events, secret showcases and massive parties are added to the program. Running from 2 – 5 September in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, the country’s premier music conference and festival is shaping up to be its biggest year yet.

New additions include Sounds Like The Gold Coast (Tuesday, 6pm), the Heavy Music Meet Up (Thursday, 4pm), plus performances from Good Sniff, Loose Content and BIG NOTER — the new punk-driven project from keynote speaker BRIGGS, fresh from touring with Tom Morello, Amyl and the Sniffers and Karnivool.

Festival-goers can also expect Amazon Music Sessions Up Late at The Prince Consort, with secret line-ups revealed only two hours before showtime via the official BIGSOUND app. Elsewhere, the party schedule is stacked: Believe presents BIGSOUND Afterdark with Rromarin, Hii Spirits, WILL K and Harley Girl; Select Music will celebrate its 20th birthday with Stella Donnelly, Teenage Joans and DJ sets from DZ Deathrays, The Jungle Giants and Kisschasy; and NETTWERK marks 40 years with a DJ set from Mel Blue.

Beyond the music, BIGSOUND 2025 offers over 500 events, 138 speakers and 130 bands across more than 50 venues. Highlights include public art, free programming supported by Brisbane City Council, the Goolwal Garden exhibitions, and a Blur book signing from Dave Roundtree.

With limited passes remaining, BIGSOUND 2025 is on track for a sell-out, cementing its place as Australia’s biggest week in music discovery.
