BIGSOUND Announces First-Ever Tech Showcase in Partnership with CAST for 2025 Event

Australia’s premier music industry conference and festival, BIGSOUND, has unveiled an exciting new addition to its 2025 program: the inaugural CAST x Tech Showcase, set to take place on Wednesday 3 September from 3:30pm at The Precinct Stair Stadium in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

In collaboration with CAST (The Centre for Arts, Science and Technology), the Tech Showcase will spotlight innovative startups that are reshaping how music is created, shared, and experienced. The event will feature live pitches from four panel-selected startups, each pioneering new tools in fan engagement, creator monetisation, live performance, and beyond.

Applications are now open for startups worldwide to be part of the showcase. Founders can apply by creating a CAST profile before 8 August. A selection panel of industry leaders—including Jaddan Comerford (UNIFIED Music Group), Andrea Rosen (Best Nights VC), and Emily Copeland (ex-ABC, ARN, CADA)—will choose the participants. An additional six projects will feature in a downloadable digital zine for wider industry exposure.

“We’re thrilled to be engaging CAST for BIGSOUND’s first ever Tech Showcase at this year’s event,” says Kris Stewart, CEO of QMusic. “Through CASTs knowledge and connections, we are excited to see what insights into the future of the industry our Tech Showcase is set to uncover.”

The showcase will conclude with networking drinks outside Duke’s at TC Beirne Centre from 4:30pm, offering artists, founders, and industry leaders a chance to connect and explore how creativity and technology intersect.
