Bite Into Some Punk Goodness Courtesy Of The Sinking Teeth
Melbourne punk outfit The Sinking Teeth have released a new single Salt and Stiches off their upcoming album, ‘Songs From The Bottom Of the Lake’.
Since the release of their debut EP ‘White Water’ in 2013, The Sinking teeth have established themselves as a band with an incredible work ethic. Having shared the stage with acts such as Jimmy Eat World, Luca Brasi and Bodyjar and completed 6 national tours, the guys in The Sinking Teeth don’t show any sign of slowing down.
Self-described as “yelly punk’, the bands new single certainly lives up to the moniker. With a simple song structure, The Sinking Teeth really nail the punk vibe with this track. A catchy chorus and a juicy guitar hook round it out, and you’ll be jamming along to this one in no time. The soft-loud dynamic is particularly well used in the song, which allows the band to explore two different musical sides. The louder parts incorporate energetic drums and a fuzz-laden guitar tone and the punky, yelled vocals, while the quiet parts of the song allow the band to showcase their softer side.
With a more relaxed vibe, subdued melodic guitar lines and sung vocals, the band seamlessly integrate this into the more classic punk feel of the rest of the song. Salt and Stitches is a simple yet infectiously catchy track, and if its anything to go by, their upcoming album ‘Songs From The bottom Of The Lake’ due out Wednesday the 9th of November, will be chocked full of punk jams.
With a top notch single in Salt and Stitches, new album “Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake’ due out and a national tour to be done, The Sinking Teeth are in for a busy few months!
