Blink-182 and Green Day to Co-Headline Festival Together Once More

blink-182-and-green-day

I, like most people, would only assume I’d ever see heavyweight punk rockers Blink-182 and Green Day at the same festival again, unless I somehow managed to build a time-machine.

But surprisingly that isn’t the case, although you may need to buy a hefty plane ticket, as the two bands will be performing at the Not So Silent Night festival at the Oracle Arena in Oakland (and don’t worry you shouldn’t be ashamed about having to Google maps where that is).

The two haven’t performed at the same festival since Pop Disaster Tour in 2002 (the glory days of pop punk rock) and this has gotten fans of the two veterans quite excited. Although playing on separate nights, fans of both will be coming out in swarms to see either one or both of their favourite bands from their angst-filled teenage years.

But music fans have more then just these two legendary bands to look forward to, as they are backed by the likes of Aussies Empire of the Sun, Jimmy Eat World, Glass Animals, and Bastille, just to rattle off a few of the names you can expect to see playing.

With expectations high, fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the two have managed to maintain their not-give-a-sh*t attitude and epic riffs. But who am I kidding, even if the boys have somehow gotten a bit rusty, the atmosphere at these performances will be absolutely mental.

So unfortunately, if you aren’t able to make the quick visit to Oakland, then keep your fingers crossed that Blink-182 and Green Day decide to give it a few more cracks together, and head out on a joint world tour in the near future.

Pop punk fans stranded in Australia do have a small saving grace, as Green Day have announced the local legs of their Revolution Radio world tour coming in the middle of next year!
