Bootleg Rascal Return with New Single, ‘Drip Your Love’ feat. ZAYA and Announce National Tour

Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based trio, Bootleg Rascal, have unveiled their final song of the year, ‘Drip Your Love‘ feat. South Summit‘s Zaya – produced by Caleb Tasker (Rum JungleThe Terrys) with mixing and mastering by Ian Pritchett (Angus and Julia StoneBoo Seeka).

‘Drip Your Love’ opens with laid-back, sultry keys as Carlos Lara‘s soulful vocals float over the swaggering beat. Zaya’s vocals enter, glossing the arrangement with a hazy burst of warmth before gritty guitars layer atop the bridge, adding texture and yearning ahead of a final rhythmic burst.

Guitarist and dad-bod extraordinaire Jimmy Young shares the inspiration behind the track:

“It’s long, hot summer days spent by the pool sipping ice cold, extra strong, homemade margies. It’s steamy nights spent with your new flame, picture the love scene from the OG Top Gun movie, ‘Take My Breath Away‘ playing on cassette tape. It’s traffic jams spent sweating it out in your 1986 Toyota Corolla with busted A/C. It’s pretending to drown at the community pool just so you can get resusitated by the hot life guard on duty, see Squints Poladoris in the ‘Sandlot Kids‘. It’s trying to finish your Frosty Fruit before it melts in the blazing hot sun (aka impossible). It’s necking your first cold beer of the day so fast it feels like the liquid just evaporates before it even touches your lips. It’s slamming chip sambos at the beach, white bread/chicken salt/extra sauce. It’s hanging for summer to come around just to complain every day about how hot it is, then lament it when it’s all over for another year. It’s summer lovin’ just the way Olivia and John boy would want it.”

Alongside the release is the announcement of their curated mini-festival ‘BOOTY BLOCK PARTY‘, which will be held over March and April 2025. They will be joined by the likes of Danté KnowsDear SundayDizzy Days and Tasman Keith on select shows. After launching in early-2024 with a sold-out event in Sydney, the band has decided to up the ante and take the event to a truly national capacity.

“Yeah, we thought we’d go all out and do every capital city but Sydney. We’ve been out priced of the accommodation for hotels there, so unless someone has a tent we can pitch in their backyard, then it’s no Sydney for now. If anyone is keen to hook us up though, please shout out; Carlos said he has a lot of experience pitching a tent, so we’ll be pretty self-sustainable” continues Young.
