Brace Yourself, Chastity Belt Are Coming Down…Under
Finally! Seattle punk quartet Chastity Belt have announced their debut Australian tour. The band came together after winning a battle of the bands competition in Washington (classic band story) and decided they’d give the musician lifestyle a good go.
Their most recent album ‘Time To Go Home’ was released in 2015 to critical acclaim, and allowed them to share stages with acts such as Death Cab For Cutie, Wire, and Australia’s very own Courtney Barnett!
The band is loved for their punk style and relatable lyrics as they tell stories of boredom, going out, gettin’ laid, and gender inequality. This is paired alongside flowing rhythms and groovy guitar work to form a pleasing, unflustered sound.
It’s a refreshing taste to have a full female group, with the industry and genre being predominantly represented by all-dude bands and icons. Their sound has a delicate touch and is backed by a fun atmosphere due to their (loveable) lack of censorship.
As a fun fact, the image shown in this article reached numero uno on a list of awkward band photos, and we think you can see why…
